Starting 15 years ago when Weston began outsourcing city services to it, Fort Lauderdale-based professional firm Calvin, Giordano & Associates has built a niche in government services around Florida. The firm launched in 1937 as a surveyor and now consults on engineering, land planning, compliance and other issues. It employs 220 and last year had a record $25.6 million in revenue. Last year, it opened a Jacksonville office, following openings in 2010 in Clearwater and Atlanta. It provides city services to more than a dozen municipalities and agencies in Florida and Georgia.
